Understanding Memory process
✔Memory Strategies
✔Understanding Concentration
✔Strategies For Improving Concentration
✔Reading or Study system (SQ3R)

MEMORY 🆚 BRAIN

Memory

  • can store information
  • ability of an individual to  encode, store and retrive information

Brain
  • a organ

FORGET AND REMEMBER
Why we forget things easily?
✋Distraction

✋Lack of focus

✋Time factor

✔It easy to remember it if we always do repetition and rehearsal after gain any information 📚or knowledge💪

UNDERSTANDING MEMORY PROCESS

TYPES OF MEMORY

1.SENSORY MEMORY (SM)

  • OUR SENSE ARE ALWAYS BUSY.WE HEAR,SEE,SMELL,TASTE AND TOUCH HUNDREDS OF STIMULI EACH MOMENT
  • WE HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO THEM OR THEY ARE QUICKLY FORGOTTEN.
  • ATTENTION IS CRITICAL TO THE FUCTIONING OF THE SENSORY REGISTERS.
  • SO,WITHOUT ATTENDING TO THE INFORMATION PRESENTED,YOU CAN'T PROCESS THAT INFORMATION THROUGH THE SENSORY REGISTER.

2.SHORT TERM MEMORY (STM)
  • HOLD ON THE INFORMATION AND GET IT INTO YOUR LONG TERM MEMORY.
  • THIS PART OF THE MEMORY SYSTEM IS APTLY NAMED BECAUSE YOU REALLY HAVE TO WORK ON THE MATERIAL TO MAKE IT MEANINGFUL,MEMORABLE AND EASY TO RETRIEVE.
  • VARIETY STRATEGIES TO MOVE INFORMATION INTO LONG TERM MEMORY.

      3.LONG TERM MEMORY (LTM)
  • MATERIAL THAT HAS BEEN PROCESSED IN WORKING MEMORY,IT CAN BE MOVED INTO LONG TERM MEMORY.
  • ALMOST UNLIMITED CAPACITY.
  • THE MORE WE LEARN,THE MORE CAPACITY FOR LEARNING WE APPEAR TO HAVE.
  • PROVIDE ADDING A NEW MEMORIES.
  • REMARKABLE

MEMORY STRATEGIES

1.Massed practice vs Spaced practice

Massed practice (not good)-involves studying all the materials at on time.DO NOT HAVE TIME TO UNDERSTAND,REMEMBER AND ORGANIZE THE READING MATERIALS.

Space practice (good,recommended)-involves space time over some period of time for studying.Spaced practice allows time for the information to consolidate in the long-term memory.

2.BREAK READING MATERIAL DOWN

3.REHEARSAL
If get any information must be in practice so we can always remember that memory in long-term memory.it involves REPETITION.

4.ELABORATION STRATEGIES
  • ACRONYMSYOU
EXAMPLE: MAS-Malaysian Airline System

  • ACROSTICS
EXAMPLE: carnivores-animal eaters
                      herbivores-plant eaters
                      omnivores-animal and plant eaters
                      decomposers-eat decaying organism
the catchphrase.' Can Henry Omit Dents'

  • ASSOCIATION
Grouping the information in same group or classification the infomation.

                              UNDERSTANDING CONCENTRATION

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF CONCENTRATION?
  • FOCUSING WHAT YOU ARE DOING
POOR CONCENTRATION
  • LACK OF ATTENTION
  • LACK OF INTEREST
  • LACK OF MOTIVATION
  • DISTRACTION FROM OTHERS
  • UNCOMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT
  • PHYSIOLOGICAL MATTERS(TIREDNESS)
  • PERSONAL MATTERS

QUESTION
BUILD YOUR OWN QUESTION WHEN STUDY SO WE CAN ALWAYS NEED AN ANSWER.

READ
